Programs Services

When you or a loved one is suffering from addiction, uncontrolled anxiety or other issues that are harmful to a peaceful, calm existence, you want someone who understands what you are going through and can provide you with the tools you need to recover. You don’t want treatment that is one-size-fits-all or that does not address the individual needs of your family. You want someone to help you that sees you as an individual and doesn’t lump you in with every other person they have treated.

At Solstice, we offer programs and services that are designed not only for each family who comes through our doors but also for each individual person. We determine the level of care you need based on our intake process and we continue to adjust those needs as we move through your treatment.

We look at the person as a whole, addressing biological, psychological, social and spiritual needs in an effort to move you and your loved ones closer to recovery.

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program

Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program

Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program allows you to continue working, attend family functions and live your life while getting the treatment you need. The treatment involves between 9 and 12 hours of treatment and services each week that may include day or evening programs so that you get the full spectrum of assistance.

Our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program includes:

  • Comprehensive bio-psycho-social assessment
  • FDA approved urine drug screening
  • Individualized treatment planning
  • Group therapy
  • Family sessions
  • Psychiatric evaluation
  • Medication management
  • Health and wellness counseling
  • Vocational counseling
  • Discharge planning
  • Aftercare
  • Mutual self-help recovery groups

Outpatient Treatment Program

Outpatient Treatment Program

Our Outpatient Treatment Program is a less-intensive program than our Intensive Outpatient Treatment Program, but that does not mean it is any less effective.

This program is designed to help you achieve permanent changes in your life to help you overcome alcohol or drug addiction or many other issues you are facing that is disrupting your life.

During the treatment, we address lifestyle, attitude and behavior that may be causing you to self-medicate or lash out at others. The program includes:

  • Recovery skills tested in situations as close to “real world” conditions as possible
  • “Unbundled” services specified to match each client’s individual needs
  • Substance use disorder treatment provided by addiction professionals and clinicians
  • Regularly scheduled sessions (usually once or twice per week)
  • Individual and group sessions
  • Mutual self-help groups

Mental Health Co-Occuring Services

Mental Health Co-Occuring Services

At Solstice, we understand that addiction often coincides with other mental health issues or that mental health issues can lead you to self-medicate. In order to address one of those issues, we must also treat the other.

Our co-occurring services include:

  • Psychiatric assessment
  • Medication monitoring
  • Group therapy
  • Education pertaining to mood, anxiety, trauma and stress disorders
  • Skills and symptom management training
  • Individual therapy provided by licensed mental health professionals
  • Holistic wellness approaches to reduce and/or eliminate symptoms

Anger Management

Anger Management

If you or a loved one has difficulty controlling their anger, are prone to outbursts when frustrated or become angry even when the situation does not warrant such a reaction, you may benefit from our Anger Management program.

This program provides you with the skills you need to control and properly process anger without going to extremes. We also offer group therapy sessions that allow you to hear from other individuals who have difficulty managing their anger.

Family Services

Family Services

At Solstice, we understand that addiction does not only affect the person who is abusing drugs or alcohol, but that it affects the entire family. In addition, there are many family dynamics that can lead to substance abuse while also allowing it to continue.

We understand that the outcome of treatment is better when loved ones are included in the recovery process. This is why we offer family services to not only address the substance abuse in the family, but to resolve problems that may have led you to abuse drugs or alcohol initially. Our family services include:

  • Getting Emotional Support
  • Learning How to Recognize if You Are Enabling
  • Learning How to Cope
  • Learning Strategies on How to Help Your Loved One

Individualized Treatment and Planning & Counseling

Individualized Treatment and Planning & Counseling

At Solstice, every client is engaged in their recovery process. Every treatment is created on an individual basis and clients are included in the planning, implementation and follow-up process in order to get them on the path to recovery and keep them on that path. Whether we are treating you for co-occurring disorders, substance abuse, uncontrolled anger or other mental health problems, you are included in every decision made regarding your treatment.

We understand that treatment is an ongoing process that may need adjustment from time-to-time. Your treatment plan is written so that you understand it and you are provided with measurable goals so you can track your progress as you move through treatment.

MAT+ Our Medication Assisted Treatment Program

MAT+ Counseling Based Medication Assisted Treatment Program

Solstice Counseling now offers Medication-assisted treatment (MAT). MAT is the use of medications, in conjunction with counseling and behavioral therapies, to provide a “whole-patient” approach to the treatment of substance use disorders. Medications used in MAT are approved by the Federal Drug Administration and MAT programs are clinically driven and tailored to meet each patient’s needs. Research shows a combination of medication and therapy can successfully treat these disorders, and for some people struggling with addiction, MAT can help sustain recovery. MAT is also used to prevent or reduce opioid overdoses.

There are currently three different MAT medications available at Solstice Counseling:

Suboxone, a buprenorphine/naloxone product for opioid dependence, has the potential to reduce symptoms of opiate addiction and withdrawal, and is used in conjunction with therapy and followed by aftercare support. Suboxone comes in two forms, as a pill or a strip that dissolves in the mouth.

Sublocade, a buprenorphine product for opioid dependence, is designed to block the rewarding effects of opioids. It is used as part of a complete treatment program that includes counseling and psychosocial support. Sublocade is an injection given once per month over the course of treatment.

Vivitrol, a naltrexone product, is designed to treat alcohol dependence in patients who are able to abstain from alcohol in an outpatient setting prior to initiation of treatment with Vivitrol. Patients should not be actively drinking at the time of initial Vivitrol administration. Vivitrol is also designed to prevent relapse to opioid dependence, following detoxification. It must be used in combination with psychotherapy. Vivitrol is an injection given once per month over the course of treatment.
