Anger Management Group Counseling Sessions
Each week, Solstice offers Anger Management Group Counseling sessions that last one hour, providing people with the tools they need to control their temper and handle anger more successfully.
Group sessions allow members to hear how other individuals are learning to deal with their anger and understand that they are not alone. These sessions include information about different types of anger as well as how anger develops into violence and aggression.
Your home life, your work, and your social life may suffer due to your inability to control your anger. During the group session, you will hear from others who have also suffered due to their own anger issues.
Knowing that you are not alone helps you develop the specific tools and knowledge necessary to keep your temper at bay while still expressing your opinion.
Importance of Anger Management
The goal of anger management at Solstice is to reduce the emotional reaction and physiological affects anger causes. It is impossible to avoid anger completely, but it is possible to control your reactions to situations that lead to anger.
You may have a low tolerance for frustration, inconvenience or annoyance. It may be difficult for you to take things in stride. Your anger may cause you to hurt others, both physically and mentally.
Managing anger is something many people are able to do on their own, but, if you are unable to do so, you need to learn tools that can help you manage anger in order to avoid hurting others.
Find Help With Anger Management
Anger management classes offer the best way to address your anger issues. During the classes, you will identify the situations that are more likely to make you angry.
Once you learn what it is that typically causes you to lose your temper, you are provided with the specific skills necessary to deal with the anger you feel or to diffuse the situation completely so you don’t become angry in the first place.
These classes help you recognize when you are not thinking logically and provide you with the tools that will help you calm down. Anger management does not mean you cannot express your feelings, but the classes will help you express those feelings assertively, not aggressively.
Instead of focusing on the anger, you will learn to focus on problem-solving when you are frustrated and develop communication skills that will allow you to express what is bothering you without aggression.
